GADSDEN, AL (March 25, 2014) – You’ll have a wonderful opportunity to express your appreciation for the physicians of Riverview on March 30 as we join health care facilities nationwide on that date in celebrating National Doctors’ Day.
We invite you to participate with us in this tribute by saying thank you with a note, a card, or other remembrance!
Our physicians make an important contribution to the mission of Riverview, as we strive together to deliver compassionate and high-quality health care services. National Doctors’ Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the commitment of our physicians to the health and well-being of patients, staff, and our community.
“We are extremely proud of all our physicians and the vital role they play in health care delivery at Riverview,” says Jim Edmondson, CEO. “And equally important is the role they play in positively affecting the good health of the communities we serve.”
National Doctors’ Day has been celebrated since March 30, 1933, when the wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond of Winder, Georgia selected that day to honor physicians. The date was chosen because it was the anniversary of the first use of anesthesia on a patient in 1842. The commemoration was officially signed into law in 1990.
